Introducing Artificial Intelligence:

Training for the Road Ahead

About This Course

This free course is designed to provide you with a basic understanding of key concepts in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. With our emphasis on AI and the automotive sector, we hope you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how AI is making an impact on careers in Ontario. We are proud to present this course with the support of Linamar and funding from the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) Regional Future Workforce Program.

 

Register

Students: To register for this course, you must be either a high school (Gr. 10-12) or post-secondary student and a resident of Ontario. Please complete the registration form by clicking the ‘Register (Students)‘ button below and within five business days, you will receive your login details via email.

Teachers: To receive an educator’s account and/or a class account for your students, please complete the registration form by clicking the ‘Register (Teachers)‘ button below and within five business days, you will receive your login details via email.

General registration is now closed; registration by special invitation code only.

Q: Is there a fee for this course?

A: No. This course is completely free! 

Q: Do I need a background in STEM to succeed in this course?

A: Learners of all backgrounds are welcome to take this course – whether you come with STEM or non-STEM experience, you will succeed if you dedicate yourself to learning the material. 

Q: How long will it take to complete?

A: The length of the course depends on how much time you’re willing to spend each session. While we give you 14 days to complete the entire course, you could finish in a few hours or in a few days. It’s up to you! 

Q: I don’t have a mobile device. Can I still take this course?

A: Absolutely. You can access the course from a desktop computer as well.  

Q: What should I do if I require accessibility accommodations?

A: This course has been created to meet AODA and WCAG standards. If you require additional accommodations, please reach out to us at introducing-ai@uoguelph.ca and we will be happy to help! 

Q: I am a high school teacher. Do you have any resources that will help me deliver this program?

A: Yes. Please email us at introducing-ai@uoguelph.ca for a comprehensive educator’s guide. If you would like to monitor your students’ progress throughout the training, be sure to select, “Yes, I would also like accounts for each of my students” during your initial registration for an educator’s account.

Q: I am a high school teacher but have limited access to mobile devices/computer labs. Is there a way that I can still run the program with my class?

A: Yes. Please email us at introducing-ai@uoguelph.ca for a delivery accommodation option.

Q: I am an educator. Am I able to test out the program myself before sharing it with students?

A: Absolutely. Please complete the registration form by selecting the ‘Register (Teachers)‘ button on this webpage.

Q: What happens after I finish the course?

A: Once you complete the course, you will receive a short exit survey, followed by a personalized certificate from CARE-AI at the University of Guelph.
